What a Crazy Week in the Freestone Household!

I have had a crazy last week. It was full of fun, happiness, sickness and sadness. I'll give a quick recap of the craziness that went on, the ups and downs! Enjoy!

We left for San Jose on Friday January 13th. Which was also our baby's first birthday. It took us 6 1/2 hours to get to San Jose. The baby slept most of the way and the drive was a beautiful one. I really had no idea thatthere was so much green farmland still left in California. Both girls actually slept most of the way, which gave me and the husband time to talk and catch up since our lives tend to get busy. After a long day of driving we finally arrived to our hotel, we were greeted with a surprise...our hotel was under construction! The lobby was nothing but a fold out table with a computer where they checked us in. The room i reserved was not available, I reserved two double beds. We instead got a king and a pull out couch. I wasn't going to get mad, baby would just sleep with us anyway.  We got settled and were trying to figure out a place to eat for dinner. We decided on Morton's Steakhouse which was a fancy place, may have been a little too fancy for a group of 5 adults, 4 kids and a baby. But dinner was awesome and the kiddos did great! After dinner we walked down the street and treated the girls out to ice cream since they were so good at dinner! I grabbed a slice of chocolate cake to go, we were going to have a little birthday celebration, just the four of us back in our hotel for for the baby's birthday. We got back to our hotel, tired, with full bellies, and ready to go to bed. But we really wanted E to at least have Happy Birthday sang to her! So we had our own little birthday party in the hotel room. Just the four of us! It was great! Here are a couple pictures of our night!

The next day we didn't have to be at the rink until 2:00 so we all slept in and got up when we all felt rested. Around 9:30 the eyes started opening and about an hour or so later we were out of our room. First stop was a little place called, Peggy Sue's. It was a cute little diner where my husband and I enjoyed a veggie omlette and T had pancakes with chocolate chips and butterscotch chips too. After that we wanted to walk off our late breakfast, so we walked around downtown San Jose. It was a great little area, with a nice little park. By the time we were down walking around it was already noon and I knew we needed to egt back and let T try and realx a bit before her game. We got back to our room and all feel asleep for 2 hours! SCORE! We were feeling good and ready for some hockey! Their first game was great, they lost but T scored! A proud Mama I was! It wasn't until after the game that I found out that T had hurt herself, a girl awkwardly landed on T's ankle. She scored her goal after she got hurt, talk about tough! She was awarded Most Inspirational Player of the game!

We celebrated her goal at a place called Sonoma Chicken Coop it was recommended to us by our coach so we figured we would try it out! T and I got pasta, my husband got steak. It was a great meal! We treated T to a dessert, also a coach recommendation, the chocolate fondue! We have never had fondue, so it was fun and delicious!

After dinner it was straight to bed, we had to be back on the ice by 6:45. We all slept like rocks that night, but getting up at the crack of dawn really hurt! We stopped for coffee and were on our way. The girls lost again, but man, what a great game! We ate lunch at the rink and went back to relax in our room we had our second game later that evening at 6.

Our last game was our hardest. But overall the girls tried their hardest! They all had fun, despite losing all three games. Here are some hockey pics.....

This was the calm before the storm! We got back to our hotel and around 10pm to about 6 am T, E, and I were all vomiting. Every hour were were vomiting! We woke up the next morning all sick and so sad that it was going to be a long ride home. But we bucked up and did it. The husband got sick halfway through the ride home. We didn't let anything come in the house. All the clothes were washed, all the toys were sanitized. A week later, I think the ick may be gone. I had  to call off E's birthday party yesterday cuase nobody wanted to catch what we had, understandable.
Many ups and downs this last week. Looking forward to a relaxing, happy, healthy, week ahead!
