Moms Club Fun!

I was wanting to put Em in preschool mainly for the socialization benefits, but after looking into one couldn't believe how expensive they are! The one we were interested in taking her to was $500 for 2 half days! Yowsers! So, instead I looked into finding some kind of Moms Club, where I could hangout with other moms and also let Em play with our little kids. The one I found is a local one in my area and we have loved it. I wasn't able to go to many when I first joined, but we have been going once a week. Em loves it and the group is a good set of moms. Yesterday they had an activity scheduled. It didn't start until 10:30 which was perfect for me. It meant that I could still get my workout in and be there on time. We met at a bird farm, that also had goats and ducks. I made sure I gave Em her allergy meds before we went, I didn't want her to get all clogged up! We got there and I took her inside to buy some food to feed to the animals. $1 a bag, it was full of dried corn kernals, perfect for little fingers to feed the animals. She was super excited to take her little bag of food over the the goats and feed them. Before she got to the goat she stopped at the ducks, super cute, big, but cute, ducks. At first she was just throwing the food through the fence, but then got brave and held it out for them to take it from her. Well, one of the ducks bit her little finger! The look on her face was like, "how dare you! I just gave you food!" There were no tears but she was like forget about the ducks I'm moving on to the goats. They were much more gentle and basically grabbed the food by their tounges. She was laughing and screaming, so excited. I love watching her have fun! After all her food was gone, it was a full bag, so it took like over 30 minutes, we wanted to go look at the birds. Now, this place has birds for sell in cages, birds hanging around the store, and also an open area outside that has a screen for a roof that there are birds flying free. Now, I am not a huge fan of birds, I think it is there unpredicabilty that kinda freaks me out. I never know where they are flying to or where and when they are going to land. But I was will to brave it for the sake of my kiddo. She loved it! Looking at all the birds flying, chirping, taking baths, and eating bird seed from their bowls. She probably could have stayed in there alot longer than we did. But, Mama can only take so many birds! We left happy and she was tired. Fell asleep within 10 minutes! I'd say it was a successful trip!

Back to it!

Well, school has been back in session for about a month now. The Freestones are finally back on a routine of sorts, my house runs better on routine. I'm sure all you other mama's agree, right?!!?

I have also been back on my workout routine and am feeling great. I usually workout 5-6 days a week. I have also started going on solo runs every once in a while. My baby stays home with Dad if I run in the evenings and weekends when he is off. It is nice! I have actually started to really like running. I can't believe I even say that when I do. Everyday I am getting stronger, seems like it is a crawl some days but I always make myself get my feet moving and my heart pumping. I have been keeping myself accoutable by posting daily pictures of myself after my workout with my calorie burn. I am sure it may be a little annoying but it helps me get my workouts in. Also, it is pretty neat to be able to look back and see how far I have come! The only challenge I have come across is drinking water. The first 32 ounces are easy, but the second 32 is like pulling teeth! Any suggestions?!?!?

Tay is back into hockey and our plate has been super full with that. She is skating 4 days a week. She is playing a a boys team this year, she has had to step up her speed since these boys she plays with and against seem to have rockets strapped to their skates. She is doing well and actually scored a couple goals in the tournament this past weekend. Wish we lived closer to the rink, the 30-45 minute drive sometimes kills us. But we do it, she loves it and it wouldn't matter if the commute was doubled, we'd still do it! Most days I don't even go in the rink, I run/walk outside in the parking lot. It is always nice to burn extra calories.

So, it is back to the grind of everything Freestone! Here are some pics to catch you up:

Have a great rest of the night, Friends!

Boston Day #14

We woke up so sad to leave. We spent the morning cleaning up the apartment and packing up our suitcases. We had to check out by 11, but our flight didn't even leave until 5:50! We surely couldn't drag all of our bags around Boston until it was time to go to airport. Thankfully the people who rent out of apartments have a main building that would hold our bags until we went to the airport.
After we dropped our bags we went to lunch and walked around the Prudential Mall. Ate lunch, walked around, and just tried to kill time. The day seemed to just drag on. I think we were all just burnt out and tired.
Finally it was time to go grab our bags and make way to the airport. Our taxi driver was awesome, he played hockey and his son who was Tay's age played as well! It was pretty cool.
By the time we got to the airport we had just enough time to get food and get on the plane. It was a long 6 hour flight, Em was good for the most part but was pretty wiggly at times. To be expected, she's 2! She finally fell asleep during our final decent into LA, Murphy's Law, right?!?! We caught our shuttle and we on our way home. Got home around 11:30. Exhausted and bummed about being back in Cali, but all things must come to an end!
Hope all of you enjoyed reading about my family's Boston adventures:)

I will MISS DD so much!!!

Boston Day #13

Our last full day in Boston. The girls really wanted to go to the aquarium, so today was the day!

Started our day off with a lunch at our favorite burger spot, UBurger. A close 2nd to In n Out:)

Em was super excited when we finally got into the aquarium, the line to buy tickets was quite long, however, the weather was beautiful with a nice cool breeze. Standing in line wasn't that bad. It was a nice place, plenty to see and lots of areas for kiddos to touch and learn things. I think we spent almost 3 hours in there!

How cute are these two!!!

Total Daddy's girl!!

Tay said these jellyfish looked like they were in outer space!

The penguin encounter had all these sprinklers, guess its to keep their exhibit clean. Very smart.

We made our way over to Mike's Pastry afterwards. We ended up getting four things: Chocolate Chip Cannoli, Espresso Cannoli, a Lobster Tail, and a Traditional Cupcake. Took a picture of the box but the contents of the box just went too fast! Before we knew it there was only one treat left:)

We stopped for an early dinner at a place called, The Union Oyster House. It's along the Freedom Trail and has been there since 1826! We ordered clam chowder and looked around at all the old stuff they had in there. It was pretty cool!

Today was bittersweet. We miss home, but are super sad to leave Boston.
