Highs and Lows of Mamahood!

Doesn't every mama have these? Days that are great and then days where you just wanna crawl into a hole and hide for a bit? Yesterday and today I have had them both......waaaa!

We had hockey last night from 5:15-6:15 and then were going to dinner and had to hit the mall too. By the time we sat down to eat it was close to 7:00. Now, all of you are well aware that my girls are usually bathing at this time. Plus, all you other moms out there know that with little ones, staying on a schedule is pretty important. SO when our food didn't get to our table until almost 30 minutes later I was ready to throw in the towel. My baby has started in the last couple weeks to have ants in her little pants! And of course the moms are usually the ones that have to walk the baby outside or around the restaurants while everyone else at the table goes right on eating their dinner. I have complained/talked/vented about this in the past. After the nightmare of a dinner (for me) we walked over to the mall. My husband took his sister in to shop for some clothes, she is starting a new job and needed a couple things. I was in charge of the baby, no surprise there, right? She didn't want to stay in her stroller, she wanted to run around the store tearing up the place. I didn't let her mess up the store, I am not one of the those parents that lets their kiddos run free in the store leaving a trail of destruction behind. So I thought, hey I'll take her to the outside area she can run around. Run, is what she did. I was chasing her. I must have looked like a crazy person. What seemed like forever, was probably only 20 minutes I was almost at my wits end! A whining baby plus my other kiddo was now whining too, talk about double whammy! I kept going in the store asking, what was taking them so long?!?! The store was so hot I think I was sweating, or maybe it was just a combination of two cranky kids and a mom who needed to get out of this mall.....finally after forever we got out of there. Thankfully the baby fell instantly asleep in the car. But the quiet was short lived when T realized that she left her iPod at the restaurant, really her dad grabbed it but didn't tell her until we got home. So we had to suffer from a case of a crying, sobbing, loud 9 year old cryer...all the way home. I was never so excited to get home and end my day. It was one that I hope I never have to repeat. Note to self...never take two tired children to the mall, it never is a pleasant experience. Save yourself some gray hairs. This was my low.

On to my high! It is 7:22, hockey is over with, girls are bathed, homework is done, and dinner is consumed! I call that a complete success! I am hoping to get to bed early tonight, like 9:00 or earlier:)

Have a great rest of the night Friends!!

Little Stinker!

Loving this new creamer!

Watching Dora:)

So proud of my little hockey player!

Dad was out there too!

The Sick Scale.

Last night Tay mentioned to me that it hurt when she went to the bathroom so before it got any worse I told her that I would make an appointment with Dr. Hill in the morning and I would take her over there as soon as he had an opening. I took her to school and told her to mention to her teacher the issue so that she would be aware of it just in case T needed to use the restroom during classroom time. I called this morning and they said the earliest they could get her in was 1:30. Not what I wanted to hear but I took the appointment knowing that today, anytime today, was better than nothing. I hung up and drank my morning cup of coffee and as soon as I sat my cup down the phone rang, they asked if we could come in sooner, I was like, of course. It got changed to 9:30, which was awesome, but only gave me 30 minutes to get changed, baby changed, Tay picked up and then drive over. I was there by 9:20!!! Yes, I am just that good! It was what we expected, a bladder infection. Thank goodness we caught it early and with one dose of her meds down she will quickly be on the mend and feeling better. I hate when my babies are sick. I was going to let her take the rest of the day off but she wasn't coughing, barfing, sneezing, or contagious. So I took her back to school and before I knew it, it was time for me to pick her back up. So my question is....what is your sick scale on whether or not to send your kiddo to school?
Obviously not a happy camper!

Taking her medicine like a big girl:)
Well I am off, it is time for Dancing With The Stars, T and I like watching it:) I think I am going to sick on the couch with my girls for the rest of the night, I may even pop open a Cherry Coke as a treat to myself!! Have a good rest of the night Friends!

Busy Weekend!

Beware: Picture Overloaded Post Below.....

What a crazy busy week, weekend, and Monday morning!

T has been playing so much hockey it's crazy! She was at the rink 4 times last week. She loves it though, she said that she would be there everyday if we let her. The things we do for our children. If being there 7 days a week would make her happy we would do it:)

Saturday night it was a Daddy-Daughter date out to the Staples Center  to watch the Bruins play the L.A Kings. They had a great time! They B's won which made it all the better!
She was super stoked to be there!

Daddy got her and him GREAT seats!

Love the stars and stripes on the ice!

Love this picture!
When we first had Em, we were trying to make sure that we still kept T as important as she ever was, or is for that matter. For 9 years it was all about her so it was a huge adjustment when baby came. She is finally adjusting as are we with two children, making separate but equal time with each girl is sometimes a challenge. So when he suggested to just have her and him go I couldn't be more excited for the both of them. Time away from me and baby for the both of them is important. Plus, a daddy-daughter relationship is very important.

Baby and Mama spent the afternoon with my mom and sister. We went to lunch at The Yardhouse, one of our favorite lunching spots, next to Corner Bakery of course. We got a couple different items and shared, this is how we always do it!
First was the Chopped Salad. My friend Christine suggested this salad to me one time and I have been hooked ever since! There is no lettuce or salad greens, it it all chopped veggies like celery, corn, red onion, tomatoes, cilantro, and chopped bacon, in a spicy vinaigrette topped with sliced avocado. So good! If you are a veggie lover like me, you will love this salad!
This picture doesn't really do this salad any justice, you'll have to order it next time to go there:)
We also ordered lettuce wraps. Again, we chose a vegetarian plate. We had lettuce wraps filled with portobello and shitake mushrooms, pine nuts, and tofu. Amazing!!
So good! My sister didn't even realize there was tofu in it until we told her afterwards! Hahaha!

After lunch went did some shopping and then went back to my parents house. We relaxed and my sister did my hair. It was in dire need of a cut and color. I have so much grey it is ridiculous! We watched the hockey game on tv and saw my husband and T all throughout the game, again, they had great seats! I made my way home later that night and listened to their stories about the game when they got home. I went to bed all excited knowing that the next day we all as a family would be going to watch the Bruins vs Ducks game!

Puck drop was at 5:05 but we wanted to take our time getting down there and wanted to eat at our favorite places, Alcatraz Brewery, before the game. So we left around 1:30. Good thing we did because CA weather was so bad! Raining like no other all the way down there, But we weren't at all bummed by the weather we weren't going to let rain stop us from seeing our team play! We ate at Alcatraz and had a great time laughing together and eating. The baby was cracking us up, Sissy taught her how to make a great big smile, we all love the big cheesy grin she gives!

Cheeeese!

LOVE these faces!

Dang Flash!
And she just loves the camera, both my girls do! I'm one lucky Mama! I remember T as a baby just always smiling for the camera:) We made it the Honda Center in just enough time to watch our guys warm-up and for the puck to drop. Another great win for Boston. The Freestone Four had a great night, filled, with good food, good friends, laughs and many cheers! What more could this mama ask for?!?!?!

What can I say, we love the Boston Bruins! Hope your weekend was as great as mine!

Spring Break is Over...waaaa!

Since Spring Break is over and T had to go back to school today this is the first time I have had a chunk of time to sit and write. I'm not guarenteeing just how long this chunk of time will be, my baby is occupied at the moment trying to write. Yes, write. She uses both hands, doesn't favor one or the other, I am anxious to see which she will end up being. A righty like Mama and Daddy, or a lefty like Sissy and Grammy. Time will tell. Currently sitting in her crib talking and doodling away.
We spent most of our Spring Break at the hockey rink. Tay had four lessons on top of two practices a week. She also squeezed in a day at Knott's Berry Farm, a day at my parents, a couple sleepovers, and crafting, lots and lots of crafting! Here are some pictures to catch you up on our last two weeks:
Weather was great for a couple bike rides with the girls!

We loved it!

I was sad as we sat down to watch tv together lastnight as a family. From 8-9 is family tv time. Just to turn the lights down, and to wind down the last hour before bedtime. The new series on the Discovery channel started called, Frozen Planet. We had seen previews and it talked about how it was going to be a "family" show and in HD it was going to look awesome. T loves all things like this so we were excited to get baths and whatnot done and sit down to watch. Lights went down, everyone got in their comfy spot, glasses of water, a little snack and we were ready. It started off when the polar bears. Love the polar bears. They remind me of our yellow lab, Penny. It starts showing a single one walking along in this huge spread of nothing but white, snow as far as you could see. This was starting out great! Then they start talking about how he wants to find a mate. I'm thinking, ok, he is going to find a female and then this being a "family" show like it had claimed, we weren't going to have to worry about seeing polar bears do their thing. The next thing I knew they were humping!!!! It was quick, like less than 3 seconds but it seemed like forever! I looked at my husband and I was like WTF? We kinda just played it off and I think he said something to the effect of, where they fighting? I was mortified, and was like, really? Really??!! We can't even watch a show as a family about nature and now I have to worry about the rest of the show! I was so irratated that I almost didn't want to watch the rest of the show, do I have to preview it before I let her watch? I may just have to.
That is all for now, I have to get going, I need to get a jog in before T gets out of school in an hour.

Have a great rest of the day Friends!!
