Boston Day #4

Woke up to blue and sunny skies here in Boston.
We knew we had to get up early since we wanted to walk the Freedom Trail today. Wanted to get the majority of it done before it got way to hot out. At the beginning of the FT you get a pamphlet. It explains the history and importance of each stop along the way. It was awesome! I think the distance you walk is almost 3 miles, following a red line of bricks is what keeps you in the trail.
The girls had fun, even the baby. And it was a great day to be out. Sun was warm but not hot and it wasn't too humid. I was expecting way worse. We stopped at a couple graveyards, some churches, USS Constitution ship, Bunker Hill, site of the Boston Massacre, the State House, Paul Revere's house, and a couple others. I believe there were 16 stops. You can take a tour by a guide or you can self guide yourself. We chose that since we wanted to take our time and not be rushed. It took us a good couple hours, by the end of it we were ready for a late lunch. We had read about this pace called the, Warren Tavern. Est 1780! It was right by our last stop on the FT, the Bunker Hill monument. I ordered a lobster roll, this picture does it no justice!
Here are some pics of our lesson of our US History!
Three signers of the Declaration of Indep are buried here. It was creepy.

Mini History lesson from Dad.

State House.

Sight of the Boston Massacre.

USS Constitution aka Old Ironsides.

Our last stop was back at Boston Common, the carousel was going and the Frog Pond was open! The girls played in the pond to cool off, we will be going back there! In the winter they freeze it and its an ice rink. Fun! A couple rides on the carousel after the pond, and we were ready to go home.

It's been a long day, very fun, but long. Looking forward to new adventures tomorrow!!
