Quiet Time.

Quiet Time. Oh how I love thee! I came to the realization today about how much I took quiet time for granted. With a house full of an active 9 year old and a 1 year old, quiet time for Mama is far and few between. So, when I get time by myself, like today, I take FULL advantage. The husband took the kid to a hockey lesson and then afterwards they were going to go down to Orange County, he needs to get her some new hockey gear, she has outgrown her hockey pants, her gloves, and her helmet. I'm not expecting them back until closer to 10:00 tonight. So even though I knew I was going to be riding solo, well baby too, I wanted to make dinner. I have been wanting to make Chili. My husband doesn't like chili much so I knew it was the perfect night to make me some chili and cornbread! The baby fell asleep for her afternoon/early evening nap. I started cooking. My house was so quiet. I didn't even have the tv on. Just me and my thoughts. It was GREAT! Back to the quiet time topic. E sometimes has independent play, when she does she is so quiet. I usually just sit and watch her play with her toys quietly entertained. Makes it sound like I never play with my baby. this is not true. 9/10 times E plays with someone, weather it be myself, her dad, her sister, or our dog, E always has someone to play with. Sometimes in the car I don't even play the radio. The baby will usually fall asleep in the car and T usually has her earphones on so it makes for a very quiet car ride. Moral of the story is...all you Mamas out there, take advantage of any quiet time you can get.
She has been napping great these last couple weeks!

Buddies:)

Playing by herself as I watch, she loves these staking boxes Santa brought her!

Love cooking healthy!

It's a cold night out, bundle up friends!

Looking Forward To The Next Two Weeks!

T is FINALLY on Spring Break! And she gets 2 weeks off :) I love having her home. We actually slept in this morning, I opened my eyes and looked over at the clock and it was 9! I NEVER get to sleep in like that. baby was still passed out too. An extra hour and a half is something I am looking very forward to for the next 2 weeks. We are hoping to do some fun things while she is out of school, it may just be things with me and the girls since my husband is working like crazy this month. We even may try going to the movies, The Lorax looks like such a fun movie and I think the baby will be ok it there. As long as I have snacks for her I think we will be good!

Lastnight after my husband's hockey game we went to go eat at Famous Dave's. I'm not really one for BBQ restaurants, they always put too much sauce and I'm not too much of a rib person. The idea of pulling meat off a bone just gives me the willys. So I opted for a pulled chicken sandwich, topped with coleslaw. It was alright. I should have told them easy on the sauce, hopefully we won't go back there for a while.  On another note, E is good, don't get me wrong but it is just hard to go out to a sit down kind of restaurant with a 1 year old. Moms seem to always be the ones to either have to take the baby outside or eat one handed or have to eat theirs really fast while the baby isn't tearing up the place. Anyone else have this issue? There is nothing worse than a parent who lets their kid be loud and screaming or crying and doesn't care about the other diners. I won't be that person..ever. So if she starts to get fussy I take her out, walk her around, the usual things to try and get her to settle down. Everyone else was just happy as clams eating their BBQ. Whatever. E did try her first BBQ rib and watching her be such a big girl made all the frustrations go away. My kiddos usually do that to me! I was happy to get out of there though and head home, to my jammies, bathtime, and bedtime. Dinner exhausted me. Wow, when did I become such a whiner!
How cute is she!

It was actually Sissy's rib she snaked:)
Em also got her first haircut this weekend. My sister cut it, she has a cute little bob now. I was a little sad since it was her first haircut, I don't know why, it looks super super cute, I think it is just that it makes her look so grown up, like my baby isn't such a bay anymore. Waaaaa! And yes, I saved some of her baby hair, it will go into her baby book that I STILL need to start. I'm such a slacker in the scrapbook department right now, I don't even want to think about how far behind I am.

No more mullet!
T was at her friends house from Saturday morning until Sunday night, I missed her so much! She said they swam, played hockey, tennis, Frisbee, video games, had a magic show....I mean the list went on and on. My friend Christine, the mom of T's friend, looked so tired. She had a total of 4 kiddos at her house. She said they totally wore her out! I am sure she slept great lastnight:) T was wore out too, she actually fell asleep on the bench next to my sister while her Dad played hockey. She didn't miss much though, they lost pretty bad.....7-1. OUCH!

I have a load, or a pile I should say, of laundry to my left that NEEDS to get done. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger so I think it is time to just get it over with. I would love to stay in my jammies all day but the weather is so nice outside that I can't pass getting the girls out to enjoy it. I am hoping T will want to go on a bike ride with me and her sister. Change it up a bit from the jogger. Maybe she will want to stop at the park and we can play on the playground with the baby. That will be a good set up for some good pictures of the girls, I better charge my camera:)

That is all for now, have a great day Friends!

So sore today!

I look so sleepy....long day yesterday I guess:)
I woke up this morning and could not move! My back, my arms, my core, and my legs.  That run I went for yesterday must have been a good one cause I am sure paying for it today. I shouldn't complain though, if I am sore that means it was a good workout, right? That is what my husband tells me anyway. He also encouraged me to get out and do it again today even though I am sore. He said when you workout when you are sore you will feel so good getting your muscles working, you will feel stronger and after your workout is done you will be feeling like you are on Cloud 9. I will get out there with baby today, as soon as the sun comes out. It is still a little too chilly. I'm sure by afternoon it will be nicer outside. Here is pictures from my run yesterday:
Running is a little easier when the scenery is beautiful like this!
This is probably why I am sore today, I ran hills, many hills...

Me taking a break while baby slept.
I think we were out running/walking for over an hour. Baby finally woke up when we were on our street. Perfect timing! I made a turkey sandwich that I loaded up with lots and lots of greens. Spinach too. I try and sneak in veggies anywhere possible. I also had a little snack bag of Baked Lays, the Sour Cream and Cheddar flavor. So good!

Alrighty, I am off. Going to have another cup of coffee and play with the baby before I head out to get my legs moving. Hoping my husband is right and that my run will go well. I will keep you posted. I am just going to have to make myself get out there, if not, I will sit on my couch all day and watch my DVR. It is way to easy to do that, so I will drag my butt outside. I know I will be glad I did once I'm done:)

Here are some funny pictures from yesterday too:
This picture makes me laugh! That HAIR!

Happy Baby happy Mama!
Have a great day Friends!

Finally, a day of rest...

I can't believe that it has been 5 days since I have had any time to sit and type. I miss blogging when I am away from it for more than a couple days. There is just something about blogging that I swear feels like therapy for me. I love just sitting and typing away, the sound of the keys click clicking away just gives me so much fulfillment! I know, I am nerdy like that:) It is the little things that make me happy people!

Of course all of you know that hockey keeps me busy most days. We had practice three times this week. A lot of driving for this mama. I don't mind too much, the baby will usually sleep and it is s good 45 minutes to an hour sometimes to get to the rink, so baby will get a good nap in on the drive. Plus, T loves playing, I would drive double that if I had to. The things we do or are willing to do for the happiness of our children is endless!

I have been keeping up on our daily walks/runs to the park with baby. The weather has been awesome out here! That is pretty much it. Hockey. Park. Cooking. Cleaning. Here is a picture catch up of us:

Busy. Busy. Busy.

Some days we are busy and some days nothing but relaxing is on the to-do list. The past couple of days...busy! Today will also be a busy one.

Saturday was a very exciting day. T had a scrimmage game against a boys team at an ice rink that my husband played at when he was her age. It is an old, old building. Made of cement and bricks I swear. It is the COLDEST ice rink I have ever been in. The girls were pumped to be at a different rink playing a group of different boys, they usually play against the same two teams at our home ice every Saturday. My husband was on duty, I was so sad that he couldn't be there with us. But I understand that he can't make all her games. Thank goodness I am a SAHM where I know that one of us will always be there at her games. My sister showed up to cheer on T, she comes to all of her games. She loves it, and T loves her being there. I was talking to my husband as the game was about to start and a thought went though my head and I said, "why don't we facetime and that way you can see the game?!" And that is what we did. All us moms took turns holding the camera and following to game with my phone for him. Teamwork! As one arm got tired of holding the phone, the next one held it! He got to see the whole game! Tay scored two goals and they won the game 7-0! It was one of her BEST games she has ever played! I was one proud Mama:) After the game we went across the street to a spaghetti restaurant called, Vince's Spaghetti. It has been there forever! We had 35 in our party! They sat us in the banquet room away from the main seating area. It was a great time laughing, eating, and chatting away. Our waitress was great and I am sure that she made out with some killer tips that night, she deserved it!

Sunday I went down to my parents house, T had gone home with a friend after her hockey game, Cory was at work so I was going to go down and spend some time with my folks and my sister. I don't get to go back home very often so I was looking forward to it. My dad took us out to lunch and then he went home and us girls went and did some shopping. It was nice to shop and talk with my sister and mom. Em was such a good girl too! We walked out of Target with minimal damage to our wallets and were happy campers. After our shopping session we went back to my parents, the baby played with my Dad outside for a little bit and before I knew it, it was time to go pick up my other baby from her playdate.

Do any of you watch The Amazing Race?! Tay and I love it, it is our show that we watch together. The new race started lastnight and it is looking to be a good one. Plus, for all you Big Brother watchers out there, Rachel and Brenden are on this race. They make me laugh:) Looking forward to Sunday nights on the couch with my T-Bone!

Today...today we get our taxes done! I hope we get a decent return. We will soon see! I have to go through all our stuff and make sure everything is there. I'm always in charge of getting our tax stuff together so if anything is missing I'm in trouble:( SO I will double, and triple check!

See...busy. Busy. Busy!!

9-5.

As many of you know my husband works an awesome shift that I will admit, has me spoiled. He works 48 hours on and then has 96 off. This week I have realized that I have taken his schedule for granted, let me explain. He has been in a training class all week out at March Air Force base out in Riverside. The class starts at 9 and ends  at 5. However, he leaves at 7-7:30 and doesn't get home until after 6. Just in time to eat dinner and then it is time to bathe the girls and then bed by 9. I mean even though he is home every night I feel like I haven't seen him all week. So I am patting the moms on the backs with husbands that work this crazy schedule. I am looking forward to the 2 days gone and the 4 home to be back starting tomorrow.

Other than that putting a weirdness in my schedule everything else has been normal. I live a pretty scheduled life, most of the time. As I sit here and think about what I did this week my life is actually very scheduled. Wow.

Here are some pictures to catch up the week with:

So as I look through my pictures I see this group of them with my two beautiful girls. These two are what take up all my time, and I LOVE it. As I think about how my life is scheduled well it is, but it is full with these two girls. I can't think of anything better to have your day filled with!

Loves to hang out in her baby bathtub, that is why I haven't put it away just yet!

BOO! Budget cuts!

Penny after her grooming session.

Nosey Rosey!
